What is the right nicotine level for me?
If you’re making the leap from traditional cigarettes to vaping, which nicotine level should you choose? Our experts talk us through the options.
Making the switch from smoking cigarettes to vaping is the first step towards a better lifestyle, with both Public Health England and the NHS suggesting vaping as a way to stop smoking altogether. Once you’ve found the right e-cigarette, the next step is to find the right e-liquid for your needs. As a first time vaper, this can be pretty confusing - with a variety of different flavours, liquid sizes and, of course, nicotine levels to choose from.
What do the numbers mean on my e-liquid?
The nicotine level number on your e-liquid corresponds to how many milligrams of nicotine there is per millilitre of e-liquid. So, the lower the number on the bottle, the less nicotine there is. This number is commonly written in a percentage format, e.g. 6mg/ml is 0.6% nicotine.
The nicotine level in your vape juice is critical to your enjoyment as a vaper; here’s what we recommend based on your smoking activity before vaping.
What nicotine level is right for me?
By using the guide above, you should be able to find which nicotine strength matches your needs. Keep in mind that you may end up vaping a lot more than you smoked previously; this is because your e-cigarette will most likely be close at hand. There’s also no signal to stop vaping, whereas a cigarette would come to an ‘end’. If you do find yourself getting nauseous or dizzy, we recommend reducing the amount of time you are vaping or reducing the nicotine level in your e-liquid.
